Summer Term 1
This week we have enjoyed spending lots of time outside in the glorious sunshine! We love to spend time in our outdoor area and going on Welly Walks on the field.
We have been mad about minibeasts this week! Cherry Tree Class have learnt all about different types of minibeasts this week and have been busy going on bug hunts, making their own minibeasts and discussing the similarities and differences between a range of minibeasts. We even had a special delivery of our own class Caterpillars! It has been lovely watching them grow over the week and we can’t wait to see the changes in the next few weeks!
What a busy week we have had making our outdoor area look beautiful! We have transformed some of our tyres into planters. We carefully transferred the soil from the bag into the tyre and handled the plants and seeds with great care. We are enjoying watching them grow and seeing the beautiful flowers bloom!
Our caterpillars have changed so much! They have been busy eating lots of food and growing bigger and bigger. They have made their Chrysalides and we are patiently waiting to see the next big change...butterflies! This week we have looked at the different foods the caterpillar eats in the story, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and we had a go at printing with fruit. We also tasted some of the food from the story, the children loved the watermelon!
