Autumn Term 1
We had such a great time meeting the families and children of our very first Cherry Tree Class. The children thoroughly enjoyed their settling in sessions that took place at the end of the week. They had a great time playing with the train track, riding the bikes and making lots of new friends. We are looking forward to having them in for their normal sessions next week.
This week we have been busy with our topic “Marvellous Me!”. We have drawn our own self-portraits and read the story, “The Colour Monster” to discuss our feelings. We enjoyed pulling different faces to show our feelings and emotions. We were introduced to our Worry Buddies and we have thoroughly enjoyed playing with them during our choosing time this week.
What a busy week it has been! We have been learning all about Autumn, exploring the seasonal changes all around us. We have created Autumn pictures using natural loose parts such as conkers, acorns and leaves…we have had some great comments and conversations about what the objects feel like, look like and where they were found. The children have also enjoyed taking part in craft activities, such as leaf crowns, leaf painting and making their own Autumn trees! Amongst all of our exciting Autumn jobs, we have also been showing how amazing we are with our gross motor skills by balancing, jumping and hopping around an obstacle course!
